Having partnered with us since our inception in 2018, the West Sixth Farm in Frankfort is home to our first bluebird trail. You can enjoy a hike of the farm, great birding on the property, and of course, drinks from the taproom.
In addition to their nearly 70 works of large-scale art, Josephine Sculpture park's 30 acres provides critical wildlife habitat. They have partnered with us to create our second bluebird trail in Frankfort.
The Frankfort Audubon Society's purpose is to connect people with nature through birding education and the conservation of wildlife habitat.
"As owner of Wild Birds Unlimited I feel it is very important to be involved in the community and make our presence known. It is important to give back to the birding community who welcomed the store when we opened and have continued to support us for the past 6 years. Monitoring the local bluebird trails with BOCK has given us the opportunity to help our native wildlife and give back to the community at the same time. Not only has helping BOCK allowed for WBU to give back, but it has been a continuous hands-on, enjoyable learning experience.
"Teaming up with BOCK and monitoring the bluebird trails has allowed us to share these experiences with our customers and spark an interest, which leads to a teaching opportunity. Education is an important part of what WBU does/is about. It allows us to help our customers and community get the most out of their birding experience and also teach them about conservation. The store has been a platform for educational programs (done by Chris Forsythe). I feel that education and community involvement are key factors in helping our local bluebird populations thrive.
